Resources

  • F.A.C.E. C.O.V.I.D. Guide - A guide from Dr. Aaron Rosales, a partner with Fuller Seminary and co-founder of Mental Health at Brio, a non-profit that designs and launches mental health solutions in vulnerable communities through local partnerships.

  • How to Help Someone Who is Suicidal - An article from Mental Health First Aid, an international organization that equips people to be first responders to others experiencing mental health challenges. Find cues to look for, great questions to ask, and ways to encourage someone experiencing these challenges. If you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or actions please have them contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255 or suicidepreventionlifeline.org.

  • Daily Prayer of Examen - This is a form of prayer practiced by many that promotes mindfulness and bringing God with you throughout your day. This prayer can be highly customized to how you want to review and walk through your day with God. This is great to become aware of times you might feel anxious or depressed and how God is there with you and you can turn to Him the next time.

  • Family Conversation Plan - Email us to receive a copy of a conversation plan for you and your student to work on together to open to doors and make a plan should your student feel depressed or in a suicidally vulnerable place.

  • Local Counselors - Email us to receive a list of local counselors or to learn more about counseling sessions and their benefits.

If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to talk to one of our pastors, please call the Journey Offices at 209-833-8470.
