Advent In Unexpected Places

Every great event in God’s Story has an Advent—a preparation—long before its arrival. At Creation, God prepared the world as His Spirit hovered over the waters. Before the Flood, God prepared a vessel for Noah and the animals. During the Exodus, God prepared a nation within captivity. And in the first Advent, God prepared the world for the arrival of the Messiah. As we step into the Gospel of Luke, we see God’s hand at work again—quietly, intentionally preparing people in unexpected places.
